Jacqueline “Jacqui” Howe
Catalina Sea Camp Fox Landing Camp Director
“I believe every human being in the world deserves to go to summer camp. Guided Discoveries has impacted my life in ways that are hard to put into words and I am so incredibly grateful. It warms my heart and gives me chills when I think about the difference we make in this world by connecting, playing and having FUN with campers and staff. I am honored to be a part of this team.”
Jacqueline’s first experience on Catalina island started in 2006 with her middle school biology class at Cherry Cove. She continued to attend school year programs at Fox landing as well and then later jumped over to Toyon Bay to be a camper at Sea Camp. Jacqui started working for Catalina Sea Camp summer 2013 first as a counselor, then head counselor, assistant camp director, and now summer camp director for our 1-week programs at Fox Landing.
Jacqui grew up in sunny San Diego and fabulous Napa Valley, California. Also, recently completed her master’s in biology at the University of California San Diego. Her favorite activities are body surfing, rollerblading with her cousins, and swimming in the ocean with her mermaid tail. She is one of 11 siblings and wouldn’t want it any other way. There is never a dull moment with Jacqui. Having a large family and working for Guided Discoveries has taught Jacqui her core values: community, connection, and selflessness. She is dedicated to improving the lives of children through fostering a compassionate community and true friendships within the camp environment.
