Learn to snorkel or get Scuba Certified at Catalina Sea Camp!
“The cure for anything is salt water – sweat, tears, or the sea.” ~Isak Dinesen
Catalina Island has some of North America’s best scuba diving and snorkeling. In a recent issue of Rodale’s Scuba Diving magazine, Catalina was voted the No. 1 North American Dive Destination in its annual readers choice awards issue. As part of the diving program at Catalina Sea Camp, you can learn to snorkel, earn your basic Open Water certification, or increase your certification level and become a Master scuba diver. Want to learn to take photos or video underwater? We do that too! Scuba Certifications are offered only during our 3-week program for ages 12-17.
Not a diver yet? Or are you a diver already and want to increase your certification level? Teaching kids ages 8-17 to snorkel or scuba dive is our specialty, and we take pride in our impeccable safety record. At Catalina Sea Camp, we certify more minors in our two 3-week sessions than most moderately sized dive shops do in a year! The strength of our diving program is a direct result of the quality of our National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) certified staff. Both a NAUI instructor and at least one NAUI Dive Master teach each of our diving classes and our classes are kept small to provide the individual attention that younger divers sometimes require.
