TOYON BAY marine biology camp for kids
An Amazing Summer Camp Experience on Catalina Island
Our secluded Toyon Bay summer camp facility is two and a half miles by water from the city of Avalon. It is a great place to spend the summer and enjoy your own private beach camp. Originally built in 1929 as a private boarding school turned summer camp for kids, Toyon is an ideal combination of land and sea for an amazing summer camp experience.

Camp Dining at Toyon Bay
“This Is The Best Food Ever! Better Than At Home!”
Our Food Service staff provides delicious camp dining options, including three high-quality, well-balanced meals per day. Meals always include a variety of options, including vegetarian items and a salad bar. Campers eat buffet style in our dining hall with a counselor at the head of each table.
We also often dine in our barbecue area, where campers sit at picnic tables and eat buffet-style. Barbecues are favorites among campers and staff alike, where the food service staff freshly prepares amazing meals like grilled chicken, hamburgers, ribs, fajitas, stir fry, even eggs and pancakes at breakfast, right in front of the campers and staff!
Camper Dorms at Toyon Bay
Our Dorms
At the end of an adventurous and enriching day at Catalina Sea Camp, your child will come back to our camper dorms.
Camper dorms are used to clean up, share their favorite experiences with their bunkmates, and get some good old-fashioned shuteye in preparation for the next action-packed day. At Catalina Sea Camp, your child’s needs are an essential aspect of our camper dorms. Details are thought out by our vast experience of managing residential life for more than forty years.
