Sydney Hamilton

Assistant Summer Camp Director - Toyon Bay

Catalina Sea Camp isn't just about cool skills like sailing and scuba diving (although those are pretty epic!). It's about forging friendships that last a lifetime and discovering who you truly are. Seriously, this place is where I have met my best friends and figured out who I want to be!

I grew up in a small beach town in Southern California, but for the past five years, I’ve been a horned frog (that’s the Texas Christian University mascot!) in Fort Worth, Texas. There, I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education, and have gotten the opportunity to teach everything from Kindergarten to 6th grade.

Since 2013, Catalina Sea Camp has been my happy place. Six incredible summers as a camper were just not enough and I jumped at the opportunity to be part of the team that makes the camp magic happen. Both being a camper and a staff member have been incredible and helped me grow in ways I never imagined.

Outside of camp, you can find me doing yoga, soaking up the rays on the beach, and even traveling with my friends and family. Catalina Sea Camp sparked my love for adventure, whether its sailing for my university, diving with manta rays, or even moving to a different country, none of it would have happened without what I learned in this place! Ready to make some unforgettable memories of your own? See you on the island!

You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.
