Heather Peterson

Program Director - Fox Landing

Born and raised in southern California, Heather grew up going to the beach and playing in the water since before she could walk.

She spent 10 summers teaching swimming at the community pool before joining Guided Discoveries as a Marine Science Instructor at Fox Landing. Originally planning to be here for just one year, she fell in love with the island and hasn’t left since. In her time here on the island, she has worked as an Instructor, Social Media Coordinator, Aquarist, and Assistant Program Director before becoming the Program Director. Over the last few years, she has been pursuing her Master’s while working full time. In her free time, Heather enjoys adventuring on the island with her golden retriever, Melibe, and she travels off-island around the US to go Contra dancing.
